The IdNFT Reader only verifies the ID of individuals who have downloaded and fully onboarded the IdNFT App (or an own-branded version)
Please note that this help section is about the IdPlizz Reader App, which is used to confirm the true verified identity of people using the IdNFT App. However, some people uses an own branded version of the IdNFT App that’s unique to the organization they’re part of. If you’re unsure, just talk to your supervisor.
Let’s get started:
If you haven’t already, download the IdNFT App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. When you open the app for the first time, make sure you give it permission to use your location.
Now, open the app, and hit the ‘Scan’ button (remember to allow access to your camera if you haven’t already). Scan the QR code on the person’s smartphone that you want to identify. On the screen of your phone in the IdNFT reader, it will then confirm or reject the person is who they say they are.
If you need to help someone open the IdNFT App or assist them in showing their IdNFT QR code on their phone, check out the next section below.
If you’re still having trouble with someone who’s using the IdNFT App, take a look at the section below titled ‘HOW TO CHECK A USER’S ID WITHOUT USING THE QR CODE’.
Just request that the user launches the IdNFT App on their smartphone. If they can’t locate the App icon, instruct them to search for ‘IdNFT’ or the customized version associated with your organization.
To access the app, the user’s identification is required. If they’ve already configured face ID, they simply need to wait for the app to open. However, if not, they’ll need to input their username (email address) and password.
In the case that they’ve forgotten their username or password and are unable to log in, refer to the ‘HOW TO VERIFY A USER’S ID WITHOUT USING THE QR CODE’ section below.
After the user opens the IdNFT App, just instruct them to tap the ‘Instant ID’ button on the main menu and proceed with the provided directions.
They will need to capture a ‘selfie’ image, which we then compare with their official Government ID. After evaluating additional biometric data, if the outcomes validate the person’s authentic identity, we will show and highlight the QR code on their phone. This QR code can then be scanned using your IdNFT Reader App.
This can happen due to inadequate lighting, excessive lighting (such as using the flash on a sunny day), or if they have zoomed in too closely.
Suggest they give it another shot, but this time without glasses, hats, headphones, etc. Also, remind them not to zoom in too closely.
If the user encounters difficulty in verifying their ID using a QR code from the App on their mobile device, an alternative method is available using your IdNFT reader.
To initiate this process, launch the IdNFT app and locate the ‘Picture’ Button. Proceed to the next page and input the email address associated with their IdNFT App (the one they used when they onboarded). Next, kindly request permission to capture a photograph of their face.
Upon pressing the ‘take face picture’ button, the app will activate the camera function. Once the photo is captured, a comparison is made against the image on the official governmental ID used during the app onboarding process and mergered with other biometrics. Successful matching of the images leads to confirmation of verification within your IdNFT Reader.
It’s important to note that this approach is applicable only if the user has previously completed the full onboarding process with the IdNFT app but is currently unable to verify their ID through the smartphone method.
Both the IdNFT App and the IdNFT Reader App rely on a steady internet connection to function, even though they use minimal bandwidth. Whether it’s 3G, 4G, 5G, or a Wi-Fi network, all of these options work well.
If the smartphone using the IdNFT Reader App lacks an internet connection, consult your supervisor to explore options like connecting to Wi-Fi or using a personal hotspot from another phone.
In cases where the user’s phone lacks an internet connection, the only solution is to request them to follow the same steps.
